I am in love with this bride’s style–love the hair, the dress suits her perfectly, and I am a sucker for a tattooed bride. To top it off, they shot their formals in a junkyard. I just love the juxtaposition of her soft white dress and the rusty old parts in the junkyard. Congrats Michelle and Chris and thanks for letting La Plume make your veil and fascinator!

La Plume Ethere donates 10% of all profits to the American Cancer Society, a tradition inspired by my mother whom I lost in April 2009 to lung and eventually brain cancer. She was a hard-core crafter, and has inspired me to find my own craft, and in so doing donate some of the proceeds to fund cancer research.

For the months of Jannuary, February, March, and April, we were able to donate $1220–a little more than what we donated for ALL of last year in just 4 months!!

I am so thankful to the customers that make this donation possible, and for the support I receive from my wonderful customers, friends, and family in both my craft and my desire to donate to this cause.

AND…. did I mention La Plume Ethere has now reached 500 sales? Yes… in less than one year, too :)

La Plume Ethere was invited last minute to be a vendor at The Pink Parlour Festival at the Santa Anita Racetrack on Sunday March 27th 2011!

The festival’s focus is bringing together women in the handmade industry. If will feature bands, a fashion show, dancers, and many uniquely awesome vendors.  It also has some Girl Clothing and Kat Von D’s Wonderland!

We have only 1 week to get ready…. so I better get moving!  Why am I eternally so last minute with plans??  Either way, this should be a great event!

In the land of vintage-inspired dress styles, the short wedding dress is a style that, while making a comeback, is definitely under represented. Who needs a massive dress to get in the way, be stepped on awkwardly by your father as he walks you down the aisle, or… if you are me… be torn and have to hold your train the whole night?!  The airy, dainty silhouette will add a wonderfully retro feel to your wedding.

Add some amazing shoes (blue?? red?? black?) and a birdcage veil and then bow down to the awe that is the tea length dress.
